Tending to Dreams - A Sacred Wisdom Tradition

Enhance your spiritual companionship skills with the sacred practice of tending dreams. In this experiential and participatory workshop series, we will examine the connection between God, dreams and one's faith journey. Some of the topics we will explore include symbolism as the language of dreams; discernment the key to unlocking a dream's wisdom; why recurrent and disturbing dreams can be quite potent and significant; and what it means and how to "tend" a dream. In the company of other spiritual directors you will be offered the opportunity to not just learn about the practice of tending dreams but will experience the practice for yourself.

This four-part series will take place the first Wednesday of the month, September-December: September 2, October 7, November 4, December 2, 9am-noon each day.

About the Presenter:

Bobbie Ascarate is a trained and experienced interfaith spiritual director. She is longtime dream tender and avid student of many respected teachers including Dream Tending authority and depth psychologist Dr. Stephen Aizenstat. Bobbie has also benefited from the teaching of Dr. Leslie Ellis, a leading expert in the use of somatic approaches in psychotherapy specializing in focusing, dreamwork and nightmare treatment. As a spiritual director, Bobbie facilitates both individual and group dreamwork. She combines BioSpiritual Focusing, Internal Family Systems work, various forms of prayer and other practices to those she accompanies as they deepen their relationship with the Divine.
